Last spring, your child took new state tests in Science and/or Social Studies. These tests measured complex, real-world skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and writing that are given increased emphasis in Ohio’s Learning Standards. Ohio has raised its expectations for what your child should know and be able to do in each grade and subject, so every child will graduate from high school better prepared for the next steps in life. Performance standards are in place to gauge a child’s knowledge in these subjects. Scores will help teachers perfect what and how they teach students over time. Tests administered during the 2015-2016 school year will be shorter and given during a testing window. You will receive your child’s current-year test results by mid to late June 2016.
