Colonel Mark Giardina graduated from Cardinal High School in 1984, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He received a commission from the Kent State University ROTC (distinguished graduate) as an Engineer Officer in 1989. Mark then continued his combat engineer training and graduated from the U.S. Army Ranger School, serving as a platoon leader, executive officer, trainer and battalion commander. In 2012, he graduated with a Master’s Degree from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and was promoted to the rank of Colonel in September 2013. Mark then earned a promotion on November 8, 2014 to Brigade Commander of the 302nd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Economics from Kent State (1988) and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado-Denver (1989). In addition to his military accomplishments, Mark is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Ohio.
