This year the JES PTO will be hosting a Walk-a-Thon on Friday, September 14th where 100% of funds raised will go back to the school. The fundraiser will take the place of the Pumpkin Festival and Fall Catalog Fundraisers.
All students and staff will be walking up to the high school track where they will walk and participate in activities. Students are asked to collect donations for the walk, but it is not mandatory. All donations should be turned in to school by Monday, September 10th so winners can be announced at the Walk-a-Thon. Please send money in ONE form of payment, either all cash or one check written out to Cardinal PTO.
The walk itself will take place on Friday, September 14 during the school day. Students in grades 3 and 4 will leave JES at 9:00 a.m. and return at 11:00 a.m. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders will leave at 12:10 p.m. and return to school by 2:00 p.m. (If your child does not want to participate in the walk, they will stay at Jordak with other classes that are not participating at that particular time.) Parents are welcome to join their student during their allotted walk time. If you intend to participate with your student, please be at JES at the designated leave time (9:00 a.m. or 12:10 p.m.) – you will not be permitted to park at CHS.
A 400 meter running race for students who raise $50 or more in 3rd or 4th grade will also be held. Students who race have a chance to win medals and additional prizes. Those who wish to participate need to return the permission form.
The class that raises the most money will win a field trip to the Middlefield Police Station for a tour of the Fire House and Police Headquarters. Other prizes will include family and youth passes to the YMCA, donut parties sponsored by Maggie’s Donuts, and silly string the Principal. There will also be “Top Class” winners in each grade level.
