As we enter the fourth quarter of our school year, I think about when I played football and we put four fingers in the air entering the final quarter of competition and yelled, “FOUR!” That act by our team signified our commitment to each other and going hard for four quarters. It is the same way in life, and now in our final quarter of the 2019-2020 school year. It is easy to coast and lay up when the end is in sight. It takes Huskie Pride to remain focused and finish strong.
Continue to be on time to school, work hard in your classes, be respectful to your peers and instructors, and BEAT THOSE TESTS! Live by our our creed of PRIDE everyday: Be Productive, Respectful, Involved, Determined, and Empathetic. Focus on that “D” for determined. You will not be denied. We will not be denied. You can and you will succeed. Believe.
Let’s see who actually read this. I have a saying that I have always liked. This Latin phrase popularly attributed to Julius Caesar
who, according to Appian
,used the phrase in a letter to the Roman Senate
around 47 BC after he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus
at the Battle of Zela
. The phrase is used to refer to a swift, conclusive victory. “Veni, vidi, vici.” I came, I saw, I conquered. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 2020)
Anyone who comes to me and recites this in either Latin or English will get a prize! Thank you and let’s finish strong! Go Huskies!
We would like to thank all of our students and staff members for every second of their hard work and commitment towards making Cardinal High School a success!
