Let me start by stating at Cardinal Local Schools, the health and safety of our students is our top priority. The district has discovered the presence of bedbugs. For this reason, the school buildings will be closed on Friday, October 20, 2023. Please be assured that bedbugs are a nuisance and do not spread disease, however, out of an abundance of caution, the district is taking measures to take care of this situation through the following steps below.
A certified pest control company has been contacted and will bring a certified bed bug dog that will come and identify the areas in each district building and all identified areas will be treated.
The district will reopen on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Your childās health and safety is always our top priority. Out of an abundance of caution, we recommend that you check your student and their belongings thoroughly for any signs of bedbugs (ie.bookbags, folders, pockets, clothing, shoes, etc.). If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the health offices at your studentsā school. There is information located on the Medical Information and Forms tab on the districtās website.
