Cardinal Catch-Up with Jack

As we wrap up another month, we are excited to share some great updates with our Cardinal Local Schools community!

First, we’ve secured a $250,000 grant through the Energy Efficiency Program for Ohio Communities. This grant will fund lighting and hot water heater upgrades in our two school buildings, saving us 41.05% on utility costs.

Congratulations to our Cardinal Elementary students who participated in the 2024 Ohio Choral Directors Association Treble Honor Choir at Capital University. Vanessa S., Addison C., Emberlyn L., Olivia F., Andi F., and Harper T. did a fantastic job performing under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Hainrihar. Well done!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 10th! Join us at the Jr./Sr. High School Sports Complex from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for our annual Back-to-School Bash. Enjoy snacks, community info, the “Water Balloon Bonanza,” face painting, and a special visit from former Cleveland Indians pitcher, Jensen Lewis.

Also, don’t forget: Fall picture day will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on the same day, with all K-12 students participating. Specific team times will be announced by your head coach or advisor.

School starts on Thursday, August 15th, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back! Please note, there will be no school from August 29 to September 2. Enjoy the holiday weekend and if possible, please support our students at the Geauga County Fair.

Lastly, starting the 2024-2025 school year, we’re eliminating Pay-to-Participate fees and school fees to ease the burden on our families.

Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful summer, Huskies!

Warm regards,

Jack Cunningham
